About Three Gallons

So I figure we are drinking about three gallons of liquids each day. It’s not as hot here in Tennessee than we did back west, because the temperatures are cooler. But we still drink a lot. I think the team van goes through about ten gallons of water each day, but we also tank up anytime we come close to a convenience store that has ice. Ice is gold. We fill our water bottles up with ice water and it lasts for about a mile. But it doesn’t matter, just the thought of having ice near us for a short period of time makes it worth it. Also, I am growing a beard. Not on purpose, but because I have not had the time or the right sink in which to shave. That is all for now.

Lunch at Choices in Oliver Springs

Some very kind folks heard we were passing through and gave us lunch from their restaurant. We are just out of Knoxville. I should have time to create a bigger update tonight. Its been an eventful week.

Things are good on the ride. We have entered east coast time and are only about eight riding days away from the ocean in Deleware. But it seems like a lifetime away. Its hard to believe we are actually going to get there.

Last night we camped in the foothills of the Smokies. And for some reason the weather has been mild to cool. Its a nice change and the temperature makes the miles to faster. And we are riding through pretty country too. Tennessee has unique hills and uncut diverse forests. The stone is great brown and naturally cuts into shelves and steps along the creekbeds. And when we cross bridges the temperature drops a bit. Then we climb back up the next hill.
